Job Description
Rugged Science is a designer and manufacturer of ruggedized, embedded computer systems looking for a Sheet Metal Fabricator to fabricate custom metal components for products.
Requirements
- Set up of fiber laser cutter for processing flat sheets
- Load/unload of flat sheets and cut parts
- Monitor fiber laser cutter for processing errors
- Process cut metal through deburring equipment
- Set up press brake for new jobs
- Process material through press brake
- Monitor press brake for processing errors
- Insert PEM fasteners into metal work
- Utilize various measuring and inspection tools
- Perform 1st piece verification off machine prior to releasing production
- Review/read blueprints and specs
- Perform work within expected rates and costs
- Assist in processing prototypes and special orders
- Provide feedback to leadership regarding fabrication limitations and best practices
- Accurately track material usage and labor time in ERP system (Global Shop Solutions)
- Operate laser welder in accordance with safety standards to weld aluminum parts for military products
- Program robotic arm with laser welder attachment and supervise robot while running
