HVAC Estimator

Sagamore Plumbing & Heating LLC is looking for an HVAC Estimator to join their Estimating Department. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of HVAC and NFPA codes, as well as strong communication and organizational skills.

Requirements

• Attend job site walkthroughs and pre-bid meetings
• Provide detailed take-offs
• Solicit subcontractors and vendors for quotes on proposals
• Review data to determine material and labor requirements and prepare itemized lists
• Compute cost factors and prepare estimates used for management purposes
• Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data
• Consult with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues
• Interface with other individuals in the organization to obtain support and commitment to the cost estimates
• Contribute to a centralized cost estimating database and a formal process to support cost estimating
• Analyze completed projects to compare estimated cost to actual cost and determine the reason for any discrepancies
• Provide improvement recommendations to cost estimating procedures to reduce future discrepancies between estimated and actual costs
• Identify cost trends to assist management in cost reduction and process improvement efforts
• Thoroughly read and understand RFPs and RFQs for preparation of proposals
