M/E Engineering is seeking a Desktop Support Technician to join their growing information technology team in Schenectady, NY. The successful candidate will provide onsite and remote technical support to employees, maintaining desktops, printers, and mobile devices.
Requirements
- Maintains desktops, printers, and mobile devices for engineers, administrative staff, and the leadership team
- Responds to the needs of various questions of network users concerning hardware, access to resources, and the operation of various software programs
- Establishes and maintains network users, user environment, directories, and security
- Troubleshoots entry-level network problems, escalating to the Network Engineer and Network Manager as needed
- Maintains and operates office audio including visual equipment necessary for critical business communications
- Coordinates software and hardware upgrades under the direction of the Network Manager and Network Engineer
- Communicates with office partners to develop office technology needs to be escalated to the Network Manager and the Director of Information Technology
- Trains users on new and modified equipment
- Responds to occasional off-hours or weekend network emergencies
- Travels to other M/E Engineering offices to attend meetings and to cover time off for team members occasionally
- Works with other regional IT team members and managers to collaborate on successful deployment of enterprise-wide initiatives
