Job Description
The Scientific Communications Manager is responsible for researching, writing, editing, and recording multimedia content to communicate the research and mission of the Salk Institute. The role manages direct reports, freelance contract writers, and other vendors, and supervises the development of public-facing content, including press releases, Salk.edu pages, and social media posts.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience writing and translating molecular/cell biology, neuroscience, or related life science topics for a general audience
- Previous experience working in a press office, media relations, or science journalism
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
- Basic knowledge of the scientific publication process
