Job Description
The Community Programs Presenter provides educational programming to members of the community in local library branches, Clark Planetarium events, and other community functions.
Requirements
- Present science lesson plans, hands-on interactive activities, and live science demonstrations to a variety of audiences
- Provide inspiring, engaging, and educational experiences for community members of all ages and backgrounds
- Accurately gather, record, and submit required information for each visit
- Communicate as needed with external contacts prior to programs/events
- Travel to outreach locations along the Wasatch Front
- Operate telescopes at star and solar viewing parties
- Manage time and travel to arrive punctually to work and outreach locations
- Create curriculum and write lesson plans
- Follow safety guidelines
- Teach summer camp sessions, participate in school "science nights"
- Pass a Utah Criminal Record background check
- Hold a valid Utah driver's license and good driving record
- Complete online driver's safety program (4 hours online) and other Salt Lake County trainings
