We are seeking an Intermediate Project Engineer to help lead the successful delivery of complex projects from concept through to completion. In this role, you’ll drive project execution, improve technical processes, and contribute to product quality. You’ll also receive hands-on mentorship from senior leaders and gain valuable leadership experience by supporting junior engineers.
Requirements
- Managing the full project lifecycle
- Collaborating with Chemical, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineers to produce work packages for production.
- Researching and qualifying new vendors and products.
- Working with suppliers and vendors to design and specify components used within our processes (pumps, valves, motors, filters, etc.).
- Supporting our internal Supply Chain and Production teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Partnering with the Quality Assurance team to ensure quality control processes are being followed.
- Assisting with commissioning at our factory and at customers’ sites.
- Implementing full-scale, repeatable plant designs, with opportunities to contribute to R&D, pilot systems, and new product development.
- Representing Saltworks with customers and suppliers, including field visits to both (ability to travel to the USA is essential).
- A relevant engineering degree and ability to register as a P.Eng. with EGBC.
- 5-8 years of relevant working experience as an engineer or designer in an industrial setting.
- A track record of generating engineering deliverables in a fast-paced, industrial environment.
- Practical knowledge and experience in key engineering areas such as ASME B31.3, pressure piping design, heat exchangers, pumps, and related systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, maintain a high-quality of work, and quickly adapt to new challenges.
- Sharp attention to detail and a proactive mindset to meet project deadlines.
- A positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and pitch in as required.
- Hands-on tooling and troubleshooting skills (not essential, yet beneficial if you like this type of work).
- Bonus - Familiarity with SolidWorks 3D design software or AutoCAD P&ID.
