Sandvik Mining has an opening for an Application Engineer in Brier Hill, PA. The Engineer will provide professional engineering services to support design and development of Sandvikās underground mechanical cutting machines.
Requirements
- Familiar with MSHA underground coal regulation (30 CFR), and state/local regulations for underground coal mining equipment.
- Communicate technical drawing revisions clearly with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic.
- Provides support with technical training and the sandvik service network on proper operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting practices.
- Provides support to end users, operators, and service personnel in cases of complex technical issues.
- Work with factory to provide technical support and guidance for USA MSHA underground coal applications
- Failure reports and analysis for components and assemblies, both electrical and mechanical.
- Assists in compiling accurate data and engineering analysis.
- Reviews spare parts recommendations and develop accuracy of Machine Life Operating Costs (MLOC)
- Assists factories with field testing and trials of new products and updated components to ensure proper and safe operation.
- Develops test plans for field/shop testing of new products/designs.
- Plan for correct tools and parts required to perform tasks, according to all work procedures.
- Support commissioning of products that includes pre-delivery inspections and hot (operational and at customer site) commissioning.
- Work with customers and factories to develop solutions to equipment related challenges.
- Assists customers and co-workers with parts interpretations and recommended stock holdings
- Develop customer relationships to ensure customers have positive experience and remain loyal to the Sandvik brand
- Assist sales in evaluation of potential applications and machine options.
- Complies with safety policies and applicable government, customer or industry regulations or requirements
- Identifies and reports any unsafe work habits
- Strives to find safer ways for customers to work with Sandvikās products
- Ensures that all activities are carried out in accordance with Company Values and current Company Policies and Procedures
