Histology Technician

Receives and prepares tissue specimens for routine and special examinations. Performs complex histological procedures using techniques to gross, embed, perform microtomy, and stain to make tissue slides used for diagnosis.

Requirements

• Associates degree in Laboratory or Biological Sciences
• National certification as a Histology Technician from an approved Health and Human Services (HHS) agency
• Responsible to review slide quality.
• Maintains and repairs lab instruments.
• Disinfects work area and stocks supplies.
• Ensures all lab safety, quality control and quality assurance standards are met.
