Senior Data Modeler

Sanford Health is seeking a Senior Data Modeler to lead collaboration with data architects, data engineers, and business stakeholders to translate complex business rules and analytical requirements into robust conceptual, logical, and physical data models. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field and a minimum of five years of experience in data modeling, database design and development, or related field.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field
• Minimum of five years of experience in data modeling, database design and development, systems or applications development, or related field
• Proficient in data modeling tools such as Erwin, ER/Studio, PowerDesigner, or other similar tools
• Proficiency with SQL, strong understanding of data pipeline and data warehousing principles and concepts
• Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Experience in data modeling and design within the health insurance or health care industry is preferred
• Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) and healthcare analytics platforms (e.g., Epic Caboodle)
• Understanding of data lake and lakehouse architectures
• Experience with data governance, data quality, and MDM principles
• Familiarity with BI/analytics tools and data science needs
