Mechanical Product Design Engineer

Sauron is creating a new paradigm in how homeowners interact with their properties and security systems. As a Mechanical Product Design Engineer, you will lead the mechanical design efforts for our security systems, driving the design, development, and iteration of premium hardware products from concept through hands-on prototyping and fabrication then onwards to manufacturing and installation, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of functionality, reliability, and design appeal.

Requirements

• 5-10+ years of experience in product design and development
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or similar field
• Proven experience leading design of products from concept to mass production
• Proficiency in use of CAD software to create detailed 3D models and technical drawings
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, sheet metal forming, die casting, CNC machining, and product assembly
• Experience in rapid prototyping techniques such as 3D printing, and rapid test/validation methods
• Excellent ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with designers, product owners, engineers in other domains, and non-technical teams
