Eligibility Specialist II (emergency department)

The Eligibility Specialist II plays a critical role in supporting patients who are uninsured, underinsured, or facing financial barriers to care, conducting comprehensive assessments to determine patient eligibility for coverage and reimbursement programs, guiding patients through complex reimbursement processes, and assisting patients with applying for government assistance programs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Proficiency in English and Spanish
• At least 1-2 years of experience in healthcare eligibility or financial counseling
• Flexibility to provide support to multiple hospital locations and in-home patient visits within assigned market areas
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and maintain accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and ability to travel within assigned service area
