Job Description
Scrap Management Industries is seeking a skilled Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to oversee a maintenance shop and maintain/repair heavy-duty trucks. This role involves operating a high-volume freight operation and ensuring DOT compliance. The ideal candidate is experienced with heavy-duty diesel trucks and enjoys a fast-paced, independent work environment.
Requirements
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines, drivetrains, brakes, suspension, and trailer systems
- Oversee direct reports and ensure policies are followed
- Perform routine maintenance, including PMs, oil changes, tire checks, and brake services
- Utilize diagnostic tools (Cummins Insite, Noregon, etc.) to troubleshoot issues and complete repairs
- Conduct DOT inspections and ensure compliance with FMCSA standards
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and repair records (digitally)
- Coordinate with dispatch and operations manager for truck downtime and service scheduling
- Respond to roadside service calls or after-hours breakdowns
- Perform other related duties as assigned
