Job Description
Material handling, packaging, and cleaning equipment. Operates traveling or stationary overhead crane (ground controlled) to lift, move, and position steel loads within the production facility.
Requirements
- Observe load hookup and determine the safety of the load.
- Manipulates or depresses crane control buttons, to regulate the speed and direction of crane and hoist movement.
- Uses hoisting attachments such as hook, sling, or bucket as load requires.
- Cleans and maintains a crane and hoisting mechanism.
- Inspects crane for defective parts and notifies supervisor of defects or malfunctions.
- Assist with training newly hired Material Handler I
