Job Description
The Chief Engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance, preservation, and readiness of the vessel's machinery and equipment. This role involves fueling, pollution control, liquid loading, logging, reporting, and record keeping, along with coordinating with external contractors and ensuring safety compliance. The Chief Engineer oversees all aspects of machinery and engine room operations during incidents and emergencies.
Requirements
- Valid 2nd Class Transport Canada Marine Motor engineering certificate
- MEDs, Marine Basic First Aid, and Marine Medical License
- 5+ years experience as engineering officer onboard a similar vessel
- Understanding of emergency equipment and its use
- Proficiency in vessel operational systems
- Knowledge of regulations (CLC Part II, MOHS)
- Proficient with English
