Job Description
The Senior Detail Designer is responsible for completing Hull Outfitting and Interior Outfitting design assignments on new construction and repair projects at Vancouver Shipyards. The role requires leadership and expertise in design, engineering, and production support, with a focus on collaboration and integration with various stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical, Electrical, or a relevant Engineering discipline
- 5+ years in the shipbuilding field working closely with the production floor
- Experience working with classification society requirements
- Previous shipyard and marine industry experience
- Experience with AutoCAD software and document control systems
- Knowledge of marine Hull Outfitting and Interior Outfitting design
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage internal and external people
- Analytical and organizational skills, including ability to maintain organized in a changing environment
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
