Patient Care Technician – Medical / Surgical

We are currently hiring a Patient Care Technician to work at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital on the Med/Surg 4 West Unit. The position requires providing patient care, supporting admissions and discharge process, and complying with patient safety practices under the direction of a professional nurse. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and one of the required certifications or experience.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• American Health Associate BLS Certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Must have one of the following certifications or experience: Sentara Care Partner Certification Program, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), National Patient Care Technician (NCPCT), Completion of US Navy Hospital Corps School, Emergency Services, or Current student enrolled in a clinical program
• One year of prior health care experience preferred
