Parent Partner

Mentor Community Services is seeking a Parent Partner to provide guidance to parents/caregivers who have children being served through the system, sharing and relating their own prior experience. The role involves advocacy and liaison services, participation in child and family team meetings, and leading individual and parent counseling groups.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior personal experience as a parent or legal guardian of a child who has been involved with the system
• Probation and/or DCFS case must be closed for a minimum of one year
• Two years of experience in a mental health setting (strongly preferred)
• Valid driver license for 1 year minimum, reliable transportation with registration and insurance
