Sezzle is seeking a talented Junior Software Engineer with accounting experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a unique blend of accounting expertise and technical skills, with experience in backend API development and relational database storage and retrieval. As a Junior Software Engineer, you will assist in the design, development, and installation of software solutions, working closely with cross-functional teams to enhance and maintain software solutions for financial processes.

Requirements

• Prior experience as an accountant or financial analyst
• Solid understanding of financial operations such as reconciliation, reporting, and compliance
• Proficient in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Go) and familiar with database systems like MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Experience with backend API development
• Experience with relational database storage and retrieval
• Familiarity with software engineering tools, software development methodology, and release processes
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Computer Science, or a related field
