The Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of Sigma Group's database systems. This role ensures that data is secure, reliable, performant, and available to support analytics, AI initiatives, and mission-critical event operations.
Requirements
- Installs, configures, and maintains relational and non-relational database systems
- Monitors database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning strategies
- Ensures high availability and resilience of databases supporting event platforms and iGaming systems
- Implements and enforces database security policies, access controls, and encryption standards
- Develops automated processes for database provisioning, patching, monitoring, and maintenance
- Collaborates with security teams to embed secure-by-design principles into database operations
- Prepares and optimises databases for AI and machine learning workloads
- Ensures AI-related data pipelines and storage systems are performant and scalable
- Supports real-time data ingestion and reporting for event engagement, exhibitor interactions, and iGaming-specific metrics
