As a Staff Data Engineer on the Data Fabric team, you will build and evolve our customer-facing analytics and reporting platform. You'll architect the data infrastructure that powers embedded reporting dashboards used by thousands of customers globally.
Requirements
- 5+ years developing production backend systems with 3+ years focused on data engineering or analytics infrastructure
- Strong TypeScript/Node.js or Python proficiency with experience building serverless, event-driven systems on AWS (Lambda, SQS, EventBridge)
- Data modeling expertise: Good knowledge of Kimball star-schema and dimensional modeling; you know when to denormalize for performance
- dbt experience: Hands-on experience with dbt for data transformation, testing, and documentation
- SQL mastery: Expert-level SQL skills with experience optimizing queries for analytical workloads (Athena, Clickhouse, or similar)
- Multi-tenant architecture experience: Understanding of tenant isolation patterns, row-level security, and customer-facing data systems
- Infrastructure-as-Code: Experience with CDK, CloudFormation (or Terraform) for defining cloud infrastructure
- DataOps mindset: Strong advocate for CI/CD, automated testing, data quality checks, and observability in data pipelines
- Communication skills: Ability to explain complex data architecture trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
