Machine Operator

Work and maintain a safe environment, assist with machine and downstream changeovers, restart equipment, maintain records, and promote safety throughout the facility.

Requirements

• Work and maintain a safe environment
• Assist with machine and downstream changeovers
• Restart equipment during normal production runs for non-mechanical related issues
• Maintain records for Quality, OEE and process improvements
• Measure parts in accordance with the control plans and react accordingly to maintain good quality product
• Assist with the trouble shooting of issues during startup and production runs
• Work with Quality department, process technicians and maintenance and cross train
• Promote safety and work safely throughout the facility following all Safety Policies
• Wearing all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and required GMP gear
• Be aware of all Emergency Exits and know procedures for Emergency Evacuation
• Know the location of the SDS Safety Data Sheets and how to utilize properly
• Know not to operate any equipment or perform any work without the proper training and authorization to complete the task safely
• Always follow proper LOTO lock out/tag out procedures
• Never remove or bypass machine guards and NEVER while the machine is in operation
• Be cautious and aware of lift trucks and moving equipment
• Report all injuries or accidents to the Department Lead or Manager immediately
• Understand and follow plants housekeeping guidelines
• Identify and implement lean and continuous improvement actions
• All other duties as assigned
• Member of the HACCP team upon request
• Evaluates and takes appropriate action to maintain a safe work environment with established standards and guidelines
• Inspect work areas and look for unsafe acts/conditions
• Effectively use verbal and written communications
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment
• Perform sweeping, cleaning, sorting duties as necessary
• Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and procedures
