A Seasonal Field Technician inspects farmers’ fields and records and reports weed, insect, disease and other observations of crop health to help farmers make timely, informed and economical decisions to maintain their crops.
Requirements
- Walk Fields of customers often in order to monitor crop health and identify issues to make recommendations of herbicide, pesticide or mechanical control methods.
- Perform yield estimates throughout the growing season to provide customer with projections.
- Establish routes schedules and other organizational tools
- Use knowledge of growth stages in crops in order to predict potential problems during that stage of the growing season
- Identify and diagnose types of infestation or disease.
- Remain up to date on latest chemistry and technology for enhanced crop protection (such as drones or apps).
- Report to crop advisor status of fields and make recommendations.
