Tax Manager

The Tax Manager is responsible for the efficient preparation of clients’ tax returns, making decisions on most tax situations, and supervising tax staff members.

Requirements

• Perform technical tax review and approval of all tax returns and governmental tax examinations
• Assume full responsibility for larger tax returns and delegate to tax preparers as necessary
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge and proficiency in advanced technical skills necessary for advising clients
• Participate actively in client meetings and tax planning efforts
• Assume client service responsibility for clients the Tax Manager works directly with
• Delegate and manage governmental tax examinations
• Research and evaluate tax preparation and tax research software
• Participate in firm practice development efforts
• Supervise the development, coaching, and training of tax staff members
• Participate in reviews and evaluations of the Tax Department
