Summer Academic Institute Head Resident Advisor

Seeking a Summer Academic Institute Head Resident Advisor to assist with student staff oversight, design and implement instruction, and maintain a safe and inclusive residential community.

Requirements

• Assist the RD with all student staff oversight.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of instruction on academic, social, cultural, and recreational expectations.
• Maintain an environment conducive to learning while providing personal, social, and academic peer counseling to participants.
• Supervise and mentor Teaching Assistants (TAs) in delivering student support.
• Conduct nightly rounds to ensure the safety of all residents.
• Enforce program policies, practices, and procedures to uphold a structured and inclusive residential community.
• Serve as a first responder to crisis and emergency situations within the residence halls.
• Attend weekly staff meetings.
• Manages and supports an assigned caseload/pod of students through regular check-ins and engagement.
• Supervise RAs when the RD is unavailable.
• Coordinate TAs and manage the tracking of tutoring sessions.
• Organize daily staff meetings and attend tutorial sessions.
• Maintain a quiet educational setting during evening tutoring hours.
