Commissioning Agent

SMRT is seeking a Commissioning Agent to join its Engineering group. The role involves preparing commissioning plans, interpreting commissioning scopes, and leading on-site commissioning meetings. The ideal candidate has experience in commissioning or closely related building systems work and a strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

• Associates Degree in Mechanical, Architectural, or related Engineering or Engineering Technology program from an NAAB certified institution
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in commissioning or closely related building systems work
• Hands-on knowledge of HVAC systems and building systems, including controls, energy management systems, power, lighting, fire protection, and associated software and protocols
• Understanding of commissioning, re-commissioning, and retro-commissioning processes
• Working knowledge of construction practices, drawings, specifications, codes, and industry standards
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different audiences
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook
• Willingness to travel to project sites and adjust work hours as needed to support construction schedules
