AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Electrical Engineer with 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering and power systems design, preferably in the nuclear industry. The successful candidate will perform engineering work following AtkinsRéalis/Candu Energy procedures and QA programs, and applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Engineering Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or equivalent degree as recognized by Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
- Registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario
- 8+ years of related work experience in electrical engineering and power systems design preferably in the nuclear industry
- 0 to 2 years of design experience in Nuclear Power Plants would be an asset
- Experience with medium voltage and low voltage power distribution systems, including preparation of Single Line diagrams, Elementary Diagrams, Wiring Diagrams, Cable Block Diagrams and schedules, and calculation of power demand/electrical load lists
- Experience with transformer sizing, cable sizing, circuit breaker sizing calculations
- Experience in modelling electrical power systems and use of analysis functions in ETAP, or other similar software program is an asset
- Good knowledge and experience of CANDU nuclear electrical power systems
- Good working knowledge of applicable codes and standards, such as of CSA 22.1, Canadian Electrical Code Part I and The Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC)
- Familiar with specifying and procurement support for electrical equipment such as Transformers, MCCs, low voltage distribution load centers, UPS systems including rectifiers and inverters and Diesel Generators (emergency and standby), power and control and instrumentation cables
- Adequate knowledge of established Nuclear QA guidelines, procedures and practices is preferable
- Adequate knowledge of applicable nuclear safety codes and regulations is an asset
- Knowledge of modification process of Nuclear Power Plant; ECC process or similar is an asset
- Shall have fundamental technical knowledge to resolve engineering issues or technical problems
- Site experience in construction, or commissioning of electrical systems for nuclear or other heavy industries would be an asset
