Principal/ Associate and Chief Geotechnical Engineer - Seismic Engineering

We're looking for a Principal/ Associate and Chief Geotechnical Engineer to drive complex geotechnical projects, work in a technical review function, and support colleagues in advanced geotechnical principles. The role requires a leadership and technical capability, experience in seismic geotechnical analysis and design, and numerical modelling software expertise.

Requirements

• A good academic background with a engineering degree and ideally an MSc or PhD in a subject and holding Chartered status.
• Experience in geotechnical analysis and design experience in seismic geotechnical analysis and design including seismic design for shallow and deep foundations, soil-structure interaction, seismic deformational analyses, seismic response of dams and embankments, liquefaction assessment and ground improvement.
• Experience in leading numerical modelling teams with advanced numerical modelling software (e.g., FLAC / FLAC3D, PLAXIS 2D / 3D etc) and analyzing results.
• Experience in managing the process of geotechnical numerical analysis within an interdisciplinary project environment.
• Capability to drive digital innovation and further AtkinsRéalis’ capability in advanced geotechnical analysis and design.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence to liaise with clients and engineers from other disciplines.
• Excellent report writing skills with the ability to manage the delivery of exemplary written documents and review the work of colleagues.
• A willingness to travel on short assignments both within the UK and overseas and valid UK driving licence.
