We are seeking a Director of Food Services - Education Division - South Shore. The position will be responsible for leading the food service operations, developing new commercial solutions, and ensuring the profitability of the food service. The candidate will also supervise the activities of the kitchen, develop monthly menus, and implement strict standards for hygiene and food safety. The position requires 2-3 years of experience in food management and a diploma in hotel management, restaurant, nutrition, or administration.
Requirements
- Develop new commercial solutions and emerging solutions to ensure continuous growth and effective daily management of operations.
- Develop and analyze budgets, financial statements, and profit margins by activity sector (cafeteria, school catering, events).
- Achieve financial objectives through daily analysis of performance indicators (KPIs) and monthly reviews of operations.
- Manage food purchases, inventory, and cost controls to ensure the profitability of the food service.
- Strategically plan growth, including the expansion of culinary offerings and partnerships with local suppliers.
- Supervise the activities of the kitchen, including planning, production, and distribution of meals for students and staff.
- Develop monthly menus in collaboration with nutritionists and taking into account school standards, food preferences, and allergies.
- Ensure nutritional quality, variety, and balance of meals while respecting established budgets.
- Implement the strictest standards for hygiene, sanitation, food safety (MAPAQ), and allergen management.
- Develop and test recipes adapted to young audiences while respecting food and cultural constraints.
- Supervise inspections, audits, and continuous training in sanitation for all kitchen personnel.
- Manage a kitchen team including: chef, cooks, kitchen assistants, dishwashers, and service staff.
- Plan schedules, ensure task respect, and guarantee optimal coverage of meal services.
- Foster a positive, mobilizing, and safe work climate within the food production team.
- Form, guide, and regularly evaluate personnel to promote skill development and retention.
- Provide strategic leadership in line with client objectives and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Develop customer satisfaction strategies and maintain transparent communication with stakeholders (school administration, parents, committees).
- Manage contract conditions and ensure achievement of service level agreements.
- Regularly review performance and operational compliance (internal and external).
- Actively participate in the entire HR management cycle: recruitment, training, guidance, performance management, recognition, and development.
- Manage human resources planning in accordance with operational needs.
