We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Aquatic Technician to join our team and contribute to the maintenance and management of aquatic environments.
Requirements
- Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of aquatic facilities
- Monitor and maintain appropriate water chemistry levels
- Inspect and repair equipment and infrastructure related to aquatic systems
- Completion and maintaining work orders up to date
- Receive all required certifications/licenses within the time specified
- Proficient with identifying aquatic plant and algae species common to the region/district
- Adherence to safety SOPs with low or no safety incidents
- Maintaining equipment and vehicles
- Conduct regular inspections of aquatic habitats to assess the health and welfare of aquatic life
- Coordinate and participate in the transportation, acclimation, and quarantine procedures for new aquatic arrivals
- Provide educational programs and presentations to staff, volunteers, and visitors on topics related to aquatic conservation, ecology, and responsible pet ownership
- Maintain accurate records of water quality data, equipment maintenance logs, and animal health assessments
- Respond promptly to emergencies, such as water quality issues, equipment failures, or animal health crises
