Aquatic Technician

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Aquatic Technician to join our team and contribute to the maintenance and management of aquatic environments.

Requirements

• Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of aquatic facilities
• Monitor and maintain appropriate water chemistry levels
• Inspect and repair equipment and infrastructure related to aquatic systems
• Completion and maintaining work orders up to date
• Receive all required certifications/licenses within the time specified
• Proficient with identifying aquatic plant and algae species common to the region/district
• Adherence to safety SOPs with low or no safety incidents
• Maintaining equipment and vehicles
• Conduct regular inspections of aquatic habitats to assess the health and welfare of aquatic life
• Coordinate and participate in the transportation, acclimation, and quarantine procedures for new aquatic arrivals
• Provide educational programs and presentations to staff, volunteers, and visitors on topics related to aquatic conservation, ecology, and responsible pet ownership
• Maintain accurate records of water quality data, equipment maintenance logs, and animal health assessments
• Respond promptly to emergencies, such as water quality issues, equipment failures, or animal health crises
