This role will manage the sales and use and property tax compliance process, assist in planning and sales tax audit matters for indirect taxes, and advise project teams on indirect tax implications of construction contracts.
Requirements
- B.S in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or Law (MS, JD, or CPA preferred)
- 10+ years of indirect tax experience, ideally within construction, engineering, or renewables
- Strong knowledge of construction-specific tax issues (e.g., mixed supplies, cost-plus contracts, subcontractor taxation)
- Experience handling indirect tax audits and working with tax authorities
- Familiarity with ERP systems
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret complex construction contracts and translate them into correct tax treatment
- Excellent and timely communication and stakeholder management skills
- Customer service approach to internal stakeholders and external project owners
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple competing project priorities with frequent communication/updates
- Proactive and self-motivated work ethic and can operate independently and within a team with minimal supervision
- Strategic, commercial mindset with a focus on risk management and value creation
- Adaptability to change and shifting priorities
- Ability to effectively explain tax technical concepts to non-tax teams
