Data Engineer job description: We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our Data, AI & Analytics COE team. As a Data Engineer, you will work closely with analytics teams, develop robust data pipelines, and implement monitoring mechanisms to ensure trust and data availability in production.
Requirements
- Background in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or similar fields
- Experience in data engineering or equivalent roles
- Strong knowledge of data modelling and storage (Data Warehouse, Data Lake,...)
- Experience with SQL, Python, and PySpark (or equivalent data-processing technologies)
- Knowledge of engineering best practices: code versioning (Git), code review, development patterns, and automation
- Familiarity with cloud environments (e.g., Azure, GCP, or AWS)
- Familiarity with distributed ecosystems, ideally including Hadoop, Hive, Spark, or Databricks
- Technical leadership skills, ensuring best practices, knowledge sharing, and team guidance
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset in multidisciplinary teams, adapting technical language to different stakeholders
- Autonomy, proactivity, and a strong sense of responsibility
- Delivery focus and results orientation, showing the ability to plan, prioritise, and execute initiatives with real business impact
- Curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies and best practices
