Controls Engineer

Sonoco is looking for a Controls Engineer to maintain, upgrade, and optimize control and automation systems at its Paper Mill. The position involves working with various teams to improve safety, reliability, and productivity, and requires experience with PLC programming, AC and DC drives, and control system network interfaces.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in electrical, mechanical or chemical engineering
• Associate degree in electrical engineering and relevant field experience
• PLC programming experience, including ladder logic, function diagrams, and structured text
• Experience with AC and DC drives
• Experience with control system network interfaces and communications protocols
• HMI configuration and programming experience
• Distributed control systems (DCS) and continuous process controls experience
• Autocad skills
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
