Support the Southern California Conference in accomplishing its mission by providing quality instruction and supervision of students in a nurturing Christian atmosphere.
Requirements
- Regular attendance
- Plan classroom program according to prescribed standards and content
- Provide quality instruction and supervision of students in a nurturing Christian atmosphere
- Communicate with parents in a timely manner in reporting student progress and school activities
- Communicate regularly, openly and honestly with the supervising superintendent and the local school board
- Establish proper handover of children, relevant information, and belongings to parents and/or next teacher
- Oversee and participate in all emergency drills (earthquakes, fire, lockdown, etc.)
- Refrain from discussing confidential or sensitive information with unauthorized persons
- Manifest high regard for the teaching profession in grooming, demeanor, and use of social media in all its forms
- Oversee and participate in the activities and programs the school sponsors as well as accept and implement requested responsibilities
- Represent the Seventh-day Adventist Church in a positive manner
- Help students develop respect for, and loyalty to, principles of democracy and commitment to efforts for safeguarding, strengthening, and improving these principles
- Be aware of community needs and activities and lend support to efforts to improve the quality of life for citizens of the community
- Evidence of physical and emotional health required for working with children
- Participate in continual and professional development programs and activities
- Comply with policies and procedures of SCC, including but not limited to those in the Employee Handbook, the Pacific Union’s Education Code, and the North American Division Working Policy
- Perform other duties as assigned
