The Project Manager for Design and Construction will work collaboratively with Operations, Engineering, EHS, and others to ensure proposed projects meet TCEQ, EHS, operating, efficiency, and other requirements. The Project Manager for Design and Construction is a service and solution provider who works with others in order to improve customer service, safety, efficiency, and the bottom line.
Requirements
- Prepares estimates, design layouts, specifications, and operating procedures for the installation of transmission mains, distribution mains, wastewater collection systems, services, hydrants, generators, electric motors, pumps, boosters, chlorinating equipment, storage facilities, lift stations, water and wastewater treatment facilities, and other mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Preparing various reports and information requests as necessary.
- Assists with the update and improvement of the Company's Standard Specifications and Drawings.
- Assuring that projects are completed on a timely basis in the most cost-effective and safe manner and making sure that operation instructions are prepared.
- Visiting construction projects on a regular basis to review progress of construction and coordinates with inspectors and contractors.
- Assisting in planning a preventative maintenance program and a yearly maintenance schedule during low production periods in order to maintain top efficiency during peak periods.
- Preparing planning level hydraulic analysis and water or wastewater flow calculations for new and future developments as required.
- Assisting in the preparation of an effective master plan and/or timely plant improvement and replacement program.
- Identifying needs for outside consultants, writing requests for proposals, and overseeing their work.
- Ensuring all project planning materials and construction is in compliance with applicable regulations as promulgated by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
- Promoting safe working conditions and assuring safety standards are followed.
