Job Description
The Ophthalmic Assistant provides basic direct patient care and performs pre-testing under the guidance of an Ophthalmologist or Optometrist. Responsibilities include visual acuity testing, pupillary evaluations, diagnosing eye conditions, and ordering ocular testing. The role involves maintaining the clinic environment and adhering to safety and compliance standards.
Requirements
- Perform visual acuity testing, pupillary evaluation, and diagnostic tests.
- Administer eye medications and irrigating solutions under supervision.
- Obtain basic medical history and chief complaints.
- Order ocular testing.
