Maintenance Operator

The Mechanical Maintenance Operator performs industrial mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, fabrication, and equipment modifications in a high-demand heavy industrial steelmaking environment.

Requirements

• Follow all maintenance JSA’s, lockout/tagout procedures, and SSAB safety policies.
• Perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on various mechanical systems.
• Weld, repair, and fabricate components, and install and modify equipment per engineering drawings and mill standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical schematics, and P&IDs.
• Operate mobile equipment, including forklifts, man lifts, and overhead cranes.
• Log completed work and equipment data into CMMS.
• Work safely in extreme heat, at heights, and in confined spaces.
• Complete training within the designated timeframes and attend all required meetings.
