This position will report to the Buildings and Grounds Supervisor, and assist with all needs of the Facilities Department, including painting, drywall, plumbing work orders, general work orders, assisting with preventive maintenance, and running equipment as necessary. The position will also assist the rest of the facilities team with event setup, snow removal, on-call rotation, and other tasks as assigned. The ability to deliver excellent customer service to faculty and staff is required.
Requirements
- Safety best practices and work methods; proper lifting techniques
- Read and understand Material Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
- Oral and written communication skills
- Safe operation of vehicles and equipment
- Knowledge of plumbing and general facility maintenance
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three years of experience in facilities maintenance
- Background checks as required
- Valid Virginia driver's license, and clean driving record
