This role relies on someone who can confidently teach algebra through calculus and collaborate effectively with co-teachers of the same courses. A successful teacher in this position can explain concepts clearly, employ tools to make learning visible, adapt their practices to a modular schedule and an integrated math approach, and communicate effectively with students.
Requirements
- Full-time classroom teaching experience
- Strong organizational and classroom management skills
- Ability to joyfully teach adolescents
- Experience teaching high school-aged students in a standards-based learning environment (SBL)
- Experience teaching 90-minute classes
- Master's degree in mathematics, mathematics education, or a related field
- Ability to serve as a coach, and/or lead extracurricular programming beyond the classroom
