Job Description
The Learning Specialist provides academic support to students not reaching their full potential, and collaborates with educators and parents to determine student needs and plan interventions.
Requirements
- Provide academic support to students in small groups or individually
- Be knowledgeable of standardized testing and psychoeducational assessment reports
- Utilize and lead the Student Support Process to determine needs and planning
- Collaborate with educators and parents regarding student needs and progress
- Collaborate with teachers and principals to devise a student intervention schedule
- Attend Learning Specialist and Counselor meetings at the Catholic Schools Office
- Keep current Student Support Plan documentation
- Assist teachers with intervention strategies for struggling students
- Communicate with the principal regarding students being served, teacher needs, etc.
- Collaborate with other professionals serving students
