We are seeking an Intermediate Land Development Engineer to join our Community Development team in Ottawa, ON, Canada. As an Intermediate Land Development Engineer, you will perform a variety of tasks including project design work, assisting with proposals, liaising with clients, and project management.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of relevant areas of civil engineering design
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to effectively discuss project issues with clients and review agencies
- Thorough understanding of standards, legal and design requirements in relevant jurisdictions
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and AutoCAD
- Ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation
- Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule
- Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought
- Ability to administer and inspect construction activities
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Able to work in a team environment
- Supervising and mentoring junior staff across a range of technical and professional development levels
- Coordinating with engineers, technical staff and/or team members in various disciplines to ensure that the projects’ needs are met in a timely and effective manner
- Serving as a technical expert during liaison with landowners, municipal/agency staff, and other stakeholders
- Use of a vehicle and valid driver’s license
