Associate, Starwood Digital Ventures

Associate to work with senior members of Starwood Capital Group on new investment opportunities, develop financial models, conduct research and due diligence, and manage various facets of bringing a deal to funding.

Requirements

• Develops and maintains financial models and/or underwriting for use in evaluating potential investments;
• Conducts research and due diligence of prospective opportunities including respective financial and organizational structures, review of legal documentation, analyze past and future performance, etc.
• Evaluates unit or portfolio acquisition opportunities;
• Assists with asset management including business plan development and exit strategy planning and execution;
• Manages the preparation of property business plans, operating budgets, capital strategy, and leasing strategy;
• Conducts market assessments and makes recommendations based on results;
• Works on special projects including hold-sell analyses, refinancing opportunities, and Data Center sector initiatives;
• Interacts with joint venture partners and third-party service providers and helps to manage those relationships;
• Manages business plan performance and makes recommendations to correct any variances;
• Manages the lease approval process;
• Attends development meetings and reviews development draws for Data Center repositioning / renovation projects;
• Reviews design drawings, development plans, budgets and schedules to help identify profit-maximizing opportunities;
• Travels domestically to visit real estate assets and existing partners;
• Performs property and portfolio valuations and return analyses for quarterly investor reports.
