Job Description
The Florida Department of Children and Families is seeking a Child Protective Investigator to conduct investigations of abuse, neglect, abandonment, and special conditions for children. The investigator will collect information through observation and interviews, assess danger threats, and determine whether a child is safe.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent and four years of law enforcement experience or active military service
- Associate degree or 60+ credit hours from an accredited college or university and two years of professional work experience or two years of law enforcement experience or active military service
- Valid Driver License
- Ability to attend an 8-12 week mandatory training course
- Specialized training in child protective services
- Knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations related to child welfare
