Job Description
The Miami-Dade County State Attorney’s Office (SAO) is filling a full-time Criminal Justice Data Analyst position in the Smart Justice Strategies Unit (SJSU). The SJSU structures and analyzes data for the purposes of improving transparency, identifying areas of critical need, and further developing SAO’s data-driven and evidence-based practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) years of relevant research/data experience, preferably as a criminal justice researcher or data analyst
- Knowledge of basic quantitative and qualitative methods and demonstrated proficiency with statistical software and data visualization packages (Python, R, SPSS, PowerBI, Tableau, etc/Python skills preferred)
- Database management experience and familiarity with relational databases and SQL (or other programming languages used to extract and manipulate data)
- Proficiency with statistical software and data visualization with Python
- Be a skilled communicator (written and oral) who can collaborate with and effectively convey data findings to a variety of internal and external stakeholders
