About the Company
The Comptroller of Maryland’s Compliance Division is looking to add new tax auditors to their Business Tax Audit and Individual Tax Audit teams.
Job Description
This is a position specific recruitment for Auditor (FINANCIAL COMPLIANCE AUDITOR I) with the Comptroller of Maryland’s Compliance Division. The position involves auditing business entities for compliance with the State of Maryland’s revenue laws and regulations, and identifying and assessing unpaid taxes or fees. The auditor will be provided with on-the-job training and is ultimately expected to perform audits independently.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university
- One year of experience performing financial and compliance audits of a State agency, grantee, business or other entity
- Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or Certified Government Auditing Professional (CGAP)
