Job Description
The Probation Parole Officer position plays a central role in managing the correctional population, promoting public safety and encouraging offenders to make positive life-changing decisions for their future.
Requirements
- Cooperate with the public and criminal justice system
- Supervise and counsel 80-100 offenders
- Conduct pre-sentence investigations
- Make placement recommendations concerning offenders sentenced to DOC
- Refer offenders to appropriate resources or programs
- Monitor the progress of clients for compliance
- Investigate alleged violations of probation or parole
- Arrest and detain violators
- Testify in district court and information hearings
