Enforces licensing act of mechanical trade, coordinates and educates on licensing and code standards, and gathers information to prepare reports and testify at hearings.
Requirements
- Comprehensive knowledge of investigative methods and techniques, state-adopted construction codes and technical standards of mechanical theories, and standards governing installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial and residential structures.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others, follow written and oral instructions, and apply appropriate trade theories and standards to a construction job site.
- Ability to reasonably interpret laws/codes/ordinances, read and accurately interpret blueprints and specifications, and determine if a relationship or circumstance would cause a reasonable person with knowledge of the relevant facts to question his or her impartiality in a matter.
- Ability to physically perform inspections including driving to construction worksites, safely maneuvering through construction sites, and inputting/accessing information via a computer.
