Job Description
The Oregon Department of Transportation is hiring trainees for its High School to Highway (H2H) program, a one-year training program for recent or soon-to-be high school graduates. Trainees will work with a maintenance crew to repair and maintain roads, bridges, signs, and facilities, and may qualify for a Transportation Maintenance Specialist 2 position after completing the program.
Requirements
- Must be a high school graduate or have a General Education Development (GED) by July 1, 2026
- Must have a valid driver's license and be able to obtain a Class A commercial driver's license within six months of hire
- Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds and work in all weather conditions
- Must be able to move around rough terrain and work on uneven slopes
