As a Maintenance Technician at Steel Technologies, your main responsibility is to continue to improve our safety, quality, and efficiency. By performing preventative, routine, and emergency mechanical and/or electrical maintenance and providing effective troubleshooting, you are a huge part in ensuring operations is running effectively at all times.
Requirements
- Preventative Maintenance
- Perform routine maintenance to all plant machinery
- Carry out the preventative maintenance program for the plant
- Ability to accept and control maintenance operations and communicate non-compliance problems to supervisor for instruction
- Identify and address safety concerns throughout the facility
- Maintain general housekeeping and organization of maintenance department and all equipment repair work areas
- Minimize Downtime
- Continuously review the operation of plant equipment and systems
- Anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner
- Identify opportunities for improvement
- Effective Troubleshooting
- Must have knowledge and ability to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs through a quick and effective root cause analogy
- Ability to accurately fill out documentation on work orders
- Ability to perform emergency maintenance repairs to all plant machinery
- Knowledge of motor control systems, hydraulic systems, fire protection and mechanical bearing systems
- Knowledge of equipment installation
- Ability to interpret blueprints to properly fabricate parts and equipment
