The Personal Trainer is responsible for instructing, motivating and coaching individual member clients or groups in personalized exercise plans, maintaining a professional and confidential relationship and providing excellent service to members in a safe, enjoyable and positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement.
Requirements
- Know and understand all CPR, AED and Emergency Building procedures to properly handle an emergency situation an initiate the necessary emergency procedures when applicable.
- A basic understanding of exercise physiology and the proper use of cardiovascular and strength training equipment.
- Minimum of a high school education with a recognized personal trainer certification OR a 4-year college degree in exercise science (or similar field) and a recognized personal trainer certification to be obtained within the first 3 months of employment.
- National recognized personal training certification.
- A demonstrated ability to teach others.
- Must support the mission and values of the YMCA.
