Stevenson School is seeking a Middle Division Physical Education Teacher to design and deliver a comprehensive and developmentally appropriate physical education curriculum for students in grades 5–8, emphasizing skill development, teamwork, character, sportsmanship, health and fitness, and a positive relationship with movement and wellness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Education, or related field.
- Experience teaching physical education to middle school-aged students (grades 5–8) or equivalent preferred
- Strong understanding of adolescent physical, social, and emotional development.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive, and joyful learning environment.
- Strong classroom and behavior management skills rooted in positive relationships.
- Experience integrating wellness, mindfulness, or social-emotional learning into physical education.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to connect with all members of the community
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all aspects of work
- Collaborative mindset and strong communication skills
- Genuine enthusiasm for working with middle and high school students
- Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality and the integrity of all aspects of information disseminated within or external to the school community
